These guidelines are effective May 7, 2021 and are subject to change. These guidelines may become more or less restrictive as the season continues. If there are any questions regarding these guidelines, contact a Board Member.
The LSGSA has established the following recommendations that will be in place for the 2021 spring/summer season. Our goal is to provide a safe environment at Legacy Park and to comply with Jackson County Recovery Plan Phases and reopening guidelines.
MASKS:
It is recommended (but not required) that all individuals wear a mask when entering, exiting, and moving about Legacy Park.
BLEACHERS:
Bleachers have been returned to all fields. Sanitizing wipes are available in all dugouts and may utilized by patrons to sanitize bleachers prior to use. It is recommended (but not required) that spectators continue to follow social distancing guidelines of six feet from members outside their household.
Spectators are encouraged to bring their own chairs and can utilize all grass areas outside the fenced area of the field to watch games.
TEAM BENCHES (DUGOUTS):
LSGSA will provide hand sanitizer and wipes to coaches for use by players and team staff. Parents are also encouraged to provide for their own children. Coaches are encouraged to use these sanitizing items to sanitize the dugouts prior to each game.
Teams are required to remove team trash at the conclusion of games.
TEAMS:
Players are encouraged use their own gloves, helmets, and bats as much as possible. Coaches should limit the sharing of equipment when possible and should wipe down any shared equipment (such as catchers equipment) between use.
Use of dugouts is permitted during games and practices only.
No team or player handshakes, team or player high fives.
The pre-game greeting at home plate should be represented by one coach from each team and the umpires, all distanced as much as possible. No players are allowed at plate meeting.
Anyone who chooses to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), such as masks, glasses, or gloves can do so any time and for players, at any position (including pitcher).
LSGSA recommend teams to tip their helmets or glove hand to honor the competition with their opponent after a game from across the field. NO HANDSHAKE lines will be allowed. Please do not stand on the foul line to make this sportsmanlike gesture. We want to preserve the foul line for the next game.
Team water coolers area not permitted. Players use their own waters coolers.
No gum or sunflower seeds in the dugout.
Players may bring their own snacks to consume during and after practice or games. No shared/communal snacks. Teams snacks are allowed so long as they are prepackaged. Coaches are encouraged to have the players sanitize before passing out team snacks.
Additional time will built in to the schedule for teams to exit the ballpark.
RESTROOMS:
Restrooms will be sanitized once per day based upon minimum CDC Standard;
Entry and Exit door handles
Toilet Seats
Toilet/urinal handles
Faucets, sinks, hand dryers and Toilet Paper dispensers
Floors.
